Strengthening Connections and

Solidarity Across the Labor Movement

IUF International Visit

to Flying Food Group

Local 1102 was proud to welcome the International Union of Food, Agricultural, Hotel, Restaurant, Catering, Tobacco and Allied Workers’ Associations (IUF) for a visit to our Flying Food Group locations. The visit brought together Jonathan “Jonny” Johnson, IUF International Officer of Food Service; Jack Caffey, President of Local 1102; Jessica Ament, Director of Contract Administration at Local 1102; Stuart Appelbaum, President of RWDSU; and Brienne Ellis, Director of Research & Global at RWDSU. During their visit, the group toured three major Flying Food Group locations at airports across the United States. They experienced every aspect of the production process firsthand, from food preparation and packaging to delivery and being sent out to aircraft.

The visit was an important opportunity to strengthen international union relationships, share experiences, and highlight the important work of our Local 1102 Flying Food Group members. Building these connections across the labor movement helps strengthen solidarity and the collective voice of food service workers.
