Machine Readable Files

The Local 1102 Health and Benefit Fund (the Fund) provides machine readable files (MRFs) that contain the Fund's negotiated rates for in-network medical providers plus historical billed charges and allowed amounts for our out-of-network services.

The information is in this link that is maintained by the Fund's network administrator, MagnaCare, and will be updated on the first of each month. For the medical plans provided to Local 1102 covered members, the MRFs are in the upper right-hand corner of the link page. For the medical plan provided to Local 1102 Fund Office employees, one can enter “Local 1102” in the “Search By” bar and then click on the orange arrow button to pull up those associated MRFs.

In accord with government regulations, the MRFs are formatted as JSON files meant for use by researchers, regulators, and application developers, and are not necessarily meant for plan sponsor or member-level uses. We expect to be able to provide this information and more in a format accessible to participants in 2023 and 2024.

Price Comparison Tool

The Local 1102 Health and Benefit Fund is pleased to provide you with the federally required Price Comparison Tool. It is designed to help you obtain the most cost-effective and best health care. HOWEVER, THE PRICE COMPARISON TOOL WILL SHOW YOU ONLY THE COST OF ONE PROCEDURE AT ONE TIME; THAT COST MAY NOT INCLUDE THE COST OF THE FACILITY OR HOSPITAL OR THE COST OF OTHER HEALTH CARE SERVICES THAT ARE PART OF THE PROCEDURE, SUCH AS ANESTHESIOLOGY OR POST-PROCEDURE SERVICES. We advise you to review carefully the disclosure notice that will pop up in the Price Comparison Tool. It will require that you click “I understand.”  Any cost estimates are not a final benefit determination or guarantee of coverage for the item or service for which you requested information.

The information is in this link. Click on “Register.” Fill out all required information and create a username and password. You will then be able to log in at any time to obtain a cost estimate for any future procedure.

If you would prefer, you can always call the Fund office directly at (516) 832-9200, and we can assist you with the Price Comparison Tool or provide you with any information you may need concerning an upcoming procedure.
