Helen Copeland
Shop Steward, Modell’s Distribution Center

Spotlight Member Local 1102 recognizes a member who distinguishes themselves in the shop or in their community.

Helen Copeland is Shop Steward at the Bronx Distribution Center of Modells Sporting Goods, where she has worked for over 12 years.

Helen is one of the most involved members of our union,” states President Frank Bail. “She traveled to Pennsylvania and walked door to door during the 2008 Presidential election. As a long time member of our bargaining committee, Helen has been instrumental in mobilizing members to be unified and strong during some very difficult negotiations over the years,” he added.

Helen said, “ I have a good rapport with the union. Whenever I have questions or problems my union representative is always there. So, in turn it is easier to help my fellow members. It is rewarding to be able to help people.”

The membership of Local 1102 is proud to salute Helen Copeland for her work as a union advocate and dedicated shop steward.
