The only effective way to achieve dignity and respect at work is through worker solidarity. When workers organize and form unions, often in the face of intimidation and obstruction, they demand a voice at work and begin to level the playing field that has for far too long been tilted in the direction of the employer.

UNION MEMBERS have a voice at work and a partner in the union to fight for their rights and stand-up against injustice on the jobsite.
UNION MEMBERS earn more in wages and benefits on average than their non-union counterparts - this is especially true for women and minorities.
UNION MEMBERS have contracts and a process for grievances and recourse should an employer violate its provisions.
UNION MEMBERS better the plight of all working men and women, achieving major victories such as: the establishment of the eight-hour work day; the creation of Social Security and Unemployment Insurance; the passage of a minimum wage; and the development of safety and health standards.
UNION MEMBERS are productive at work, politically active, and civic-minded, building stronger communities throughout America.
